Last weekend, my family and I set out on a Saturday morning hike around beautiful Phoenix Lake. Seasonably cold weather aside (I have to admit, it was about time the winter weather set in!), we decided to layer up and take advantage of the clear, sunny day and spend the morning enjoying the trails. On numerous occasions my family, friends and I have found ourselves confessing, “We really should get out and explore more. I mean, we have beautiful [insert mountain, hiking trail or state park] basically in our backyard!”
As we dive head-first into this holiday season, I have made a point to remember to embrace the beauty around me, not only in the place I live but in those people with whom I interact and spend time.
