Floors and shoes: two relatively simple elements that, when combined and photographed from hip distance, have proven to be incredibly artful. My new favorite Instagram account, I Have This Thing With Floors, has capitalized on the floors + shoes = art fad and turned it into a visual smorgasbord. I’m hesitant to admit that I spent the better half of an hour scrolling through the photos, gawking at the composition of tile to boot, and wondering where in the world these photos were taken. More than just graphic musings, @ihavethisthingwithfloors reminds me to slow down and notice the beauty of everyday spaces that might normally get overlooked.
